So, I’m finally able to come up for air.
As some of you know, we recently launched the BBC series, The Incident at Ong’s Hat.
Yesterday I received confirmation that another audio series, this one a true documentary sponsored by Audible, will probably see the light of day early summer of this year. This one will look at Ong’s Hat through the lens of the early Internet culture and how it contrasts with the current climate.
This has freed me up to pick up the completion of The Liminal Cycle by completing Statio Numero, the third and final installment.
Statio Numero will be rolled out in two stages. Stage one is an illustrated print book with an interactive ebook companion. Following that will be a fully interactive movie/mobile app hybrid.
The first phase is now in development, and I am happy to be working with an old and dear friend of mine on this project. He’s someone I’ve known for many years, and we have worked together on projects for 30 years. His name is Jason Nunes, and I’m happy to once again be working with an extremely talented, trustworthy, and all-around decent human being.
Here are some comps of what we’re cooking up.
Looking forward to sharing this first stage of Statio Numero.
Help Wanted
I’m seriously considering putting out an expanded version of Ong’s Hat: The Beginning
I have a working title in my head, Ong’s Hat: Compleat. It will include the current contents of Ong’s Hat: The Beginning along with new chapters outlining the history of the Ong’s Hat ARG/Art Project, including its origins, influences, design, and execution.
I feel this would be best served if I had a second mind on it, in essence making it a Third Mind style project.
If you are a person who feels they can dedicate to a documentary-style project of this sort, I’d be happy to co-copyright and equally share proceeds.
If you have the chops, contact me through this contact form. Do not reply to this newsletter.
If you already have other means of contact, feel free to reach out that way.
Send me some background on who you are, your interest in the project, and some writing samples.
