The phenomenon you describe is one I have had. Except not with VR.
It was in training- break-falls- sideways, mid air, rolling mid attack, repeated break falls- rattles your brain badly when done all day- I did 3 days intensives 🫣
It files in my top 10 concussions of all time, and I’ve had some real doozies! May make top 5, hard to recall, by definition concussions are beasts to remember.
Also wasn’t sure about my eyes every coming back, they were off wandering in different directions in other worlds unable to unify any image for long. I got lost in a one way street 🙈
The only practical use I can think of for defending against multiple opponents (and getting out alive- not uninjured- yet alive) is by using VR is to slam the headsets over opponents’ heads and run away, or walk away slowly these days.
Ethically this must be dubious, surely?! I still have certain archaic values, call me a barbarian if you will, yet if I wanted to cause someone brain damage I’ll run them through a few days intestines break falls, or punch them a few times- it seems too nefarious and creepy to slap on VR goggles and wait for the fall out.
That’s my biggest beef with tech types- most seem really wussy, devoid of ethics, and they only ever back down in debates for reasons I’m not sure are legitimate- never quite sure if some agreeing in debates because they take my point, or because some are already quietly building a robot to come murder me on their behalf!
I have a suspect list noted down of names in tech who may… in case. I may only be 95% sure someone hasn’t yet… and apparently I can’t refrain from running my mouth when I have something to say…

Resonate with much of this… as a Gen X cusper, and generalised weirdo with non marketable skills that interest me.
One thing I feel confident in from that whole weird bunch of strange things have been known to practice- the dynamics of 2008 are on repeat play 🎡
